Next to our WCS we owe two horses: Mette (Cob) and Max (Paint cross) , as well as 6 Ouessant sheep.
Mette
Mette is my beloved Cob mare. She’s the most loyal soul I know and is a constant presence in my life. She truly comes alive when pulling the carriage, and her joy is so tangible in those moments. Just the wind in her ears, the clip-clop of hooves, and a few quiet minutes for the two of us—sometimes, that’s all we need in life.
Mette also made my dream of having my own foal come true. Little Mazzeltof was born in May 2020, and I’m grateful for all the experiences and memories we’ve shared. Now, Mazzel is on her own path and has found a wonderful new family.
Max
My dear Max has caused me quite a few worries over the years (cushing, cancer in his eye, teeth problems) yet he’s simply wonderful. He takes a little time to warm up to you, being naturally cautious, but once you’ve earned his trust, he’s yours forever. He also loves being hitched to the carriage and joining me for little outings.
And let’s not forget—alongside Aart, he’s the only gentleman in the house, and he’s very aware of it! 😉
We’ve had our six sheep for many years now. They live here in the green pastures, watching the crazy antics of our Working Cocker Spaniels—and probably shaking their heads now and then!
