A Few Requests for Prospective Owners and Visitors

Dear friends and visitors of our Working Cocker Spaniel (WCS) breeding program,

We’re truly delighted by the strong interest in our dogs. Over the past eight years, we’ve welcomed hundreds of visitors each year, always enjoying the enthusiasm they bring. However, we now find it necessary to make a few requests to ensure each visit is meaningful and enjoyable for all.

Please keep in mind the following requests:

Bringing Your Own Dog(s): Please only bring your dog if absolutely necessary and only after discussing it with us in advance.

Preparing for Your Visit: Take some time to review the information on our website. It’s extensive and covers many questions that often arise. Think about what specific questions you have that aren’t answered on our website, and plan for us to spend about 1.5–2 hours with you.

Inquiries: Please reach out only if you have genuine interest in our program. If you have general questions, feel free to use the comments section on our Facebook page.

Interest in a Puppy: If you are interested in one of our puppies, please specify what you’re looking for and your preferred timeline. We do not make breeding plans far in advance because we prioritize waiting for health results from previous litters to make the best possible decisions. When choosing a puppy, remember to select the breeder first, not the dog.

Applications: We assume you’ve thoroughly read our website before reaching out. Many applicants introduce themselves and their families in detail, particularly describing how a WCS would fit into their lives. We appreciate this very much.

Due to our long waiting lists, we’re often asked about other reputable breeders. Unfortunately, these are few and far between. Breeders in other countries, such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, England, and Ireland, often have challenges (e.g., docked tails, strict import rules, limited health testing) that prevent us from making recommendations. Demand exceeds supply in these countries as well. We hope more breeders in Germany will take on the effort, dedication, and financial commitment required to uphold the standards we strive to maintain.

Thank you for understanding and for the interest in our dogs!
