Nora, born ca. 2010 in Italy; came to us on June 30, 2018
Nora is a small version of an English Setter and was adopted by my sister from an German-Italian rescue organisation straight out of their kennel in the vicinity of Naples. Unfortunately, when she had Nora X-rayed because of her catastrophic gait it turned out that Nora’s right hip joint is completely shattered and the entire hip twisted, probably the result of a severe road accident. She also suffers from arthritis in her other joints. My sister had to carry Nora upstairs and downstairs, which became too much of a burden (literally!) for her. We agreed that our place would be a much better place for her to live, our rooms being mostly on the ground floor. Also we have a huge garden for her to roam. Guess what – she just loves it! She enjoys the company of the cockers, our puppy Trifle being her favorite.
Meanwhile she has been operated on (femurhead resection) but it’s still too early to tell if she will be able to put on more muscle on her hind legs. At least she should be free from pain once the wound has healed completely.
